Chiang Mai – Fang – Doi Pu Men (Lahu Village) – Homestay
08h00: Depart for the northern part of Chiang Mai.
08h30: First stop to visit the orchid and butterfly farm along the way.
09h00: Continue towards Fang district for a 2.5 – hour drive.
11h30: Arrive at Phumanee Lahu Home Hotel to learn about the Lahu hill tribe culture and the remarkable history of the Chaikor family. Here, you can see traditional Lahu costumes and tools.
13h30: Depart for Doi Pu Muen in a local truck, about a 1 – hour drive, to reach this mountain and plateau at an altitude of 1306 meters, with cool temperatures year – round.
14h30: Arrive at Doi Pu Muen, where you will be warmly welcomed by the host. Take a tour of the Lahu village, a Christian tribe primarily growing tea and coffee as cash crops. Visit tea plantations, learn to pick tea leaves like a local, and enjoy tasting fresh, dried tea leaves.
17h00: Free time to relax, prepare your belongings, or participate in dinner preparation with your host.
Overnight at a homestay
Meal: Dinner -
08h00: Enjoy a simple breakfast at the host's house. Join in making and tasting "Khao Puk," a traditional Lahu sticky rice cake made for special occasions and festivals.
11h00: Bid farewell to your host and leave the village, heading down to the Pu Muen waterfall.
11h30: Take a 15 – minute walk to a cool and picturesque waterfall.
13h30: Return to Phumanee by truck, then transfer back to Chiang Mai.
