Best time to visit Preah Vihear

The ideal time to visit Preah Vihear in terms of weather is during the cool and dry season, from November to February:

  • By Bus: Several bus companies operate daily services from Phnom Penh to Preah Vihear. The bus journey can take 8-10 hours, depending on road conditions and stops along the way.

Siem Reap to Preah Vihear

If you’re already in Siem Reap, you can take a bus or hire a taxi to Preah Vihear. The road journey from Siem Reap to Preah Vihear usually takes around 3-4 hours.

Poipet (Thai Border) to Preah Vihear

If you’re coming from Thailand, you can cross the border at Poipet (Aranyaprathet on the Thai side) into Cambodia. From Poipet, you can take a taxi or bus to Preah Vihear, which is approximately 150 kilometers away.
