Itinerary

At the border between Thailand and Laos, after completing customs formalities, you’ll cross the Mekong River by traditional pirogue. On the other side, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your local guide.
Enjoy a full day of navigation along the Mekong aboard a traditional boat, heading towards Pakbeng, a town inhabited primarily by the Hmong ethnic group.
Along the way, stop to visit ethnic minority villages, where many communities still live according to ancestral traditions – a unique opportunity to witness authentic daily life along the riverbanks.

Pakbeng – Cruise on slow boat – LUANG PRABANG
1.5 hours upstream to Luang Prabang, disembark to visit two sacred caves of Pak Ou, Tham Ting Cave and Tham Phoum Cave.
On the journey back, stop at the village of Ban Xang Hai,
Return to Luang Prabang and transfer to your hotel.

Uncover the ancient religious capital of Laos, and be surprised by its serenity and spirituality by tuk tuk:
- Experience unforgettable moments by attending the procession of barefoot monks,
- Visit some small morning markets,
- Visit a local food market,
- Visit the temple of Wat Visoun,
- Explore the National Museum (formally the Royal Palace) which displays a collection of artifacts that once belonged to the royal family.
- Cross the Mekong River by boat to the picturesque village of Ban Chan, a pottery village.
- Visit Vat Xieng Mene, and then follow village paths and rocky trails along the Mekong towards Vat Chom Phet.

Luang Prabang - Kuang Si waterfall - Ethnic minority villages
Depart for the beautiful Kuang Si waterfall, approximately 30km from Luang Prabang.
- Swim in a natural pool nested in the lush tropical vegetation at Khuang Sy waterfall.
- Visit minority villages such as H’mong village of Ban Thinkeo and Khmu village of Ban Thapaene.
- Visit the weaving village of Ban Xang Khong,
- Visit the Ock Pop Tok textile gallery for an explanation and viewing of some Lao Silk products, made with the co–operation of small villages.
- Enjoy some free time to stroll through the H’Mong night market,

Luang Prabang - Nam Khan River on canoe - Tomb of Henry Mouhot
Depart to Ban Xiang Ngeun, the last village accessible by road. It is situated on the Nam Khan River,
Boarding canoes, go upstream on the Nam Khan River to the large village of Khamou.
See men fishing, gossiping women doing washing, children playing and buffaloes cooling off on the river’s edge.
Head down the Nam Khan River to the tomb of Henri Mouhot.

Luang Prabang – Elephant Camp (Group Tour) – Tad Sae Waterfall
On the banks of the Nam Khan River, you will be able to swim in the fresh water coming down from the mountains
Continue north to the village of Ban Nonsavat to the Tiger Trail Elephant Camp and the adjacent Adventure Camp.
Following the stop at the camp, in the heart of a large teak forest, we are transported across the river to the opposite bank, by small boat.
After a hour long ride you feed your elephant, partly to thank the animal for saving you from walking!
Taking a small trip to the Tad Sae waterfalls, we can cool off, before our return to Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang - Xiengkhuang - The Plain of Jars: 300 km - 6h
We begin with a 6hr drive to the province of Xieng Khuang.
Along the way, stop to visit some ethnic villages, the Khmu and Hmong in traditional costumes.
Visit the “Plain of Jars” (site 1) to discover massive sandstone jars weighing as much as 6 tonnes, scattered over a dozen separate sights.
Visit villages of ethnic H’mong and Thai Phuan Dam people.

Xiengkhuang - Vang Vieng: 200 km - 6h
In the morning, visit the local market of Phonsavan.
Continue to visit sites 2 and 3 of the Plain of Jars, where some of the most picturesque views can be admired.
Transfer to Vang Vieng.

Vang Vieng - Nam Ngung Lake - Vientiane
In the morning, visit the local market.
Departure to Nam Ngum Lake, located 70 km from Vang Vieng.
Cross the lake and explore its tropical islands. Savor lake fish prepared in the traditional Lao style.
Stop at the historical site of Vang Xang,

Our day is spent visiting the capital city's main attractions such as temples and monuments:
- Vat Sisaket,
- Phraken Ho,
- Patouxay, a large monument, reminiscent of the Arc de Triumph in Paris.
- The large golden stupa of That Luang, founded by King Setthathirah in 1566 and a symbol of Lao sovereignty and Buddhist religion. It is said to contain the hair of Buddha.
- The temple Wat Si Muang,
- Relax in the Wat Sokpaluang, enjoying a wonderful steam bath and massage.
- Enjoy some free time to stroll and investigate some of Vientiane’s markets, including the covered market, known as the “Morning Market” with lots of local crafts, jewelry, gold and silver on display.
